Hunting Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1- What are the hidden costs?

There are no hidden costs, transportation from Montreal to your hunting camp and return, meat boxes and food. All are included.

2- When does the hunting season begin?

August 12th to September 29th.

3- Are the guides experienced and do they speak English?

All of our guides have years of experience, believe me, this makes a big difference! They are also bilingual. Their goal is to ensure that you enjoy every minute you'll be spending with us, safely and with respect for the laws.

4- Who takes care of the caribou, cape, meat, and skinning?

On all of our fully guided hunts such as 1 guide /2 hunters, you don't have to work at all, the guide will be doing the work. On the semi-guided hunt, 1 guide/4 hunters you should expect to help your guide. ( just one of the reasons this type of hunt costs less).

5- What kind of transportation is used for hunting?

Each guide has his own boat and he is the master on board when it comes to matters of safety. We also use all-terrain vehicles when needed.

6- What if I can't walk very far?

Just tell us ahead of time about any special limitations so that we can recommend the right package to you. This is very important for us in order to serve you better.

7- Weather?

This is the hardest question to answer. The first part of August is usually not so bad, temperature average in the 50's during the day and could drop to 40 or below at night.

The last part of the month should be aprox 40 to 45 degrees during the day and could drop down close to freezing at night.

Early September is usually 35 to 40 during the day and close to freezing at night.

Late September can have a little snow on the ground and below freezing at night. Keep in mind that the weather is changing very rapidly in this part of the country.

ALWAYS carry your rain gear with you no matter what the temperature is when you leave camp in the morning.
